I’m knee deep in sick kids, writing deadlines, and Fuller House. I know, I know. The critics roasted the reboot but I couldn’t help but watch. If you can look past the slapstick comedy you find some great outfits on DJ and you find yourself wishing for the gorgeous 3 story San Fran home.
These past few weeks I’ve stumbled upon a few things that have piqued my interest.
I’m not endorsing any views or opinions in these articles just found them to be thought provoking.
- I Am A Food Blog
- I have been searching for new recipes. Ok, I’m always on the hunt. I have best of Food and Wine hardbound recipe books by my bedside and I’m constantly scrolling through Bon Appetit to find recipes that make my mouth water. I stumbled upon Steph’s blog while looking for a banh mi inspired street taco. THIS GIRL NAILED IT. This next week we are cooking at least four of her dishes.
- I have been fascinated with Macklemore for a few years and found this article by Hua Hsu analyzing Macklemore’s struggle with white privilege and his role is supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
- This American Life Podcast
- I’ve been and off and on against podcast listen but I had the honor of grocery shopping without children and decided to pack earbuds and listen to a podcast titled, “My Damn Mind” (Episode #579) covering a story where a young man was shot in his hospital room as he suffered from mental illness. The story shares the perspective of a hospital staffer, his dad, and man who was shot.
- Sixty Marriage Resources For Christians
- I saw a FB post by Sarah Bessey asking if anyone would be interested in a variety of resources for mutual submissive marriages. I have loved scrolling through these, reading and discovering perspectives and ideas that support egalitarian marriages.
- Even When It Hurts by Hillsong Young and Free
- I know this song has been out for awhile but I just discovered it. I love it. I’ve had it on repeat. If you need a song for a weary heart this just might be it.
Happy Saturday!
May the grace and courage of Jesus be your strength, not your circumstance or your will, but the mighty love of Jesus.
