I’m the mama who quite consistently pays $10 in late charges to the library every month. In my defense they don’t have a drop box outside to leave the books and apparently I can’t be bothered to unload the kids to head into the library. This cycle of expense is ridiculous but whatever. As much as we love to check out new books and refuse to return them there are a few we love that we’ve purchased, and Jericho can’t get enough of them.

Jesus Calling Bible Storybook

jesuscallingbiblestorybook

The artwork of Jesus Calling  is phenomenal, and wording and length of the stories are great. Every story ends with a “letter” to the child in the first person from Jesus and a verse to discuss. For any mamas looking for a great devotional with their kids this one may be your winner. Jericho absolutely loves the depiction of Good Friday and the Resurrection in this particular children’s Bible.

God Found Us You

godfoundusyou

The “fox book” as we like to call it has been very helpful in explaining adoption in a loving and age appropriate way to Jericho. It details a conversation between a mama and baby fox over how much they love each other and the baby fox understanding the process of adoption is one of waiting.

Smelly Bill

Smelly Bill and the baby sitter are downright hilarious. This is comedic gold right here, my friends. Smelly Bill is a stinky dog who evades bath time for whatever reason and his nemesis is a sassy lady who will stop at nothing to bathe the stinky rascal. Both Jericho and I laugh through this book every time.

If You Give A Pig A Party

This one is crazy and Jericho eats it up. He is always game for a party even if it’s a pig throwing it down. This pig is selfish and her human is an enabler but its adorable and cute and makes absolutely no sense. My irrational child loves it!

City Cat

citycat

This illustrated adventure chronicles a globetrotting cat through most of Europe. It has historical landmarks weaved throughout as the cat clearly has refined taste in travel. Even Rick Steves would use this as a travel guide.
